113 people die after a petrol tanker bursts into frames at Sachangwan. The tanker had been involved in an accident and residents of the area had been taking the petrol in jerricans before it burst.
Anniversaries of Famous Nakuru People
Former Nakuru politician Kihika Kimani who served as MP in three different constituencies dies aged 78. Kihika was known for helping thousands of Rift Valley residents acquire land through his land buying company. He also started Jomo Kenyatta High school which was originally known as Ngwataniro High School. Kihika Kimani is father to Nakuru Politician Susan Kihika who was the first speaker of the Nakuru County Assembly. She’s also the second senator for Nakuru County.
