Milestone for Healthcare in Subukia

On this day in 2023, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika officially broke ground for the construction of the Subukia Level 4 Hospital. This KSh 120 million project marked a turning point for the region, moving healthcare from makeshift containers to a modern, permanent facility.

Designed to decongest the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital, the new wing includes a 48-bed inpatient block, dual surgical theatres, and a specialised Newborn Care Unit. Today, this facility stands as a symbol of devolved healthcare, ensuring thousands of residents no longer travel long distances for life-saving medical services.
