On this day in 2026, Nakuru County hosted the United Alternative Government as they launched a high-stakes grassroots tour. Rallies were held in Maai Mahiu, Naivasha, Gilgil and Nakuru City. In a rare display of unity from opposition leaders, Rigathi Gachagua (DCP), Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, Jubilee’s Dr Fred Matiang’i, Narc-Kenya’s Martha Karua, and DAP-Kenya’s Eugene Wamalwa joined hands in a definitive shift toward the 2027 General Election, transforming “Bolton” into a battleground for economic reform and national governance.

Local aspirants for various seats, especially the Jubilee Party, who had been used to mobilise the attendees, later complained of mistreatment from the DCP brigade and its leader, including being denied time to address their followers.
