The construction of the new Soimet Bridge is a project by the County Government of Nakuru connecting Kaptembwo, Barut, and Kapkures wards across River Ndarugu in Nakuru Town West Sub-county. Initiated following Governor Susan Kihika’s commitment, construction began after the site was handed over on 13 March 2026 and was completed on 14 July 2026. The bridge replaced a hazardous crossing, providing safer, all-weather access for residents, farmers, businesses, students, and visitors. It has improved connectivity, boosted trade, reduced travel time, enhanced access to essential services, and supports the county’s broader goal of strengthening transport infrastructure and local economic development.
